Angelika Beener

A member of the Jazz Journalists Association, Angelika Dawson has hosted the JJA Awards ceremony three times. She is also the co-host of the Jazz Foundation of America’s “Spotlight Jazz” mini-gala at the City Winery. Her writing has been featured in numerous publications and she has been on numerous panels.

Angelika Beener is a native of New York City. As a child, she won a storytelling contest at school. Her imaginative stories captivated her classmates and teachers. Her professor in college encouraged her to change her major from marketing to English. This decision nurtured her first love of music. She is currently writing her memoir.
