It’s been a while since the original novel was finished, but a movie adaptation of Less Than Zero has already been released. Ellis initially refused to see the movie, but he has since warmed up to it. The new film is based in Southern California and features a number of Ellis’ characters. The movie’s title, “Less Than Zero,” comes from a song by Elvis Costello. The sequel to Less Than Zero, Imperial Bedrooms, was published in 2010.
