MTV’s second season in Miami was successful ratings-wise

The second season of MTV’s Miami was a success, both ratings-wise and critically. The first season was critically acclaimed, and the production team even refurbished a couple of Art Deco buildings in New York City. The show’s hedonism was celebrated and its cast was well-regarded by critics. However, the show did encounter a few problems.

Spin-off series earned in 2011

Despite its polarizing nature, the Jersey Shore spin-off series earned consistently strong ratings throughout its five-season run. At its peak, the show pulled in nearly nine million viewers in the adults 18-49 demographic, making it MTV’s highest-rated original series telecast in more than two years.

As a result, MTV has commissioned spin-off series from three of the cast members. Nicole “Snooki” Polizzi, Jenni “JWoww” Farley, and Paul “DJ Pauly D” Delvecchio will all star in new reality shows. The new series are set to begin production later this year and are scheduled to premiere in 2012.

The show’s popularity led to several international adaptations and spin-off series. Four of the cast members have also received their own TV series, with the most successful being “Snooki & JWoww.” Most of the cast members, including Polizzi, moved on to other reality shows. However, Cortese, a friend of Polizzi’s, joined the cast during season three. She describes herself as “a blast in a glass.”

The series was the most popular show in the world in 2011 and has already been renewed for Season 4. The third season averaged eight million viewers, up from 2.7 million viewers in the second season. The cast members’ salaries have also increased considerably, with Snooki and Pauly D receiving more than $20,000 per episode.
