Before beginning her stand-up career, Lampanelli studied journalism at Boston College and later entered a graduate program at Harvard University. During the protest, Lampanelli pledged to donate $1,000 for every person who had a problem with her show. She raised $130,000 for the Gay Men’s Health Crisis.
