Caryn Wariner

After growing up listening to George Jones and Chet Atkins, Wariner took an interest in stage magic. She began incorporating magic acts into her concerts and began studying watercolor painting. Her song, “Country Sunshine”, was named after a 1970s watercolor painting. Wariner is the recipient of three Country Music Association Awards and is a member of the Grand Ole Opry. Her musical style is characterized by its lyrical content, stylistic diversity, and rhythmic phrasing.

Wariner’s self-titled debut album, released in 1982, featured three Top-10 singles, including the No. 1 hit “I’m Already Taken.” Wariner’s second studio album, titled Caryn Wariner, was released a year later. Despite the adulation, Wariner still yearned for more success. She released her second album, titled Caryn Wariner: The Greatest Hits, in 1986, which spawned three No. 1 singles, was met with mixed reviews.

After the 1980s, Wariner’s career took flight. She was nominated for four Grammy Awards, as well as Song of the Year and Single of the Year from the Academy of Country Music. Although she was a successful recording artist, she never lost sight of her roots as a songwriter. In the beginning, she focused on her own music, but soon discovered the benefit of pitching her songs to other artists. A collaboration with songwriter George Strait led to the release of “The Way of Love” and “Turning Out.”

In addition to writing and producing her own songs, Wariner wrote songs for other artists. His wife, Caryn Wariner, runs a publishing company and a fan club. In 1997 and 1998, two of Wariner’s songs reached the top of the Hot Country Songs chart. Garth Brooks recorded “Longneck Bottle” and Clint Black recorded “Nothin’ But the Taillights”. Also during that timeframe, Randy Wariner and Bill Anderson wrote duet vocals on Anita Cochran’s single, “Little Miracle.”

“I Am Ready” received generally positive reviews. Tom Roland noted Wariner’s voice, vocals, and song selections. Wariner’s sons, Ross and Steve, contributed to the album as well. The singles “High Time”, and “Burnin’ the Roadhouse Down” were charted. Both songs were highly praised for Wariner’s singing abilities. On the title track, Wariner also used lap steel guitar, mandolin and acouscous.

Wariner’s family members also suffered from the disease. After a two-year battle, her mother died. Last year, Steve’s good friend, Jessi was diagnosed with cervical carcinoma. Steve and Wariner sought out Music Health Alliance help after multiple consultations with specialists. They are grateful for the help they received. Jessi’s health was restored thanks to Steve and Caryn.

After West and McAnally split, Wariner began touring with Bob Luman. Bob Luman had released the hit song “Lonely Women Make Good Lovers” before. He later covered it. They collaborated to create a new song together with Wariner. Wariner also recruited bluegrass and country musicians for No More Mr. Nice Guy. The album featured Randy Scruggs and Leo Kottke as well as Bon Jovi lead guitarist Richie Sambora.
