Covington Smoke Shop Robbery

A Covington smoke shop robbery left one employee hospitalized for several days. The incident occurred on August 3 and was captured on surveillance video. Two of the three teens accused of robbing the shop were on probation and GPS monitoring. The trio had previously met in drug court. The teenagers pleaded guilty to robbery and will be sentenced later.

The victim suffered bruises, cuts and swelling to her face after being robbed. A friend of the victim was able to upload the video of the attack on Instagram. On Tuesday, police arrested the suspect. He was identified as Khari Covington, 29. Covington is also accused of other crimes, including subway attacks and eight counts of assault as a hate crime. The incident is the latest in a long line of violent incidents involving Covington.
