Julia Alves – Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Star

Despite growing up in a non-sporting family, Julia Alves was initially attracted to jiu-jitsu, which she has continued to pursue ever since. While passing by an academy’s window one day, Julia saw a jiu-jitsu class and decided to give it a try.

A black belt under Julio Cesar Pereira, Julia Alves currently competes for the GF Team on the international circuit. Although she started out as a colored belt, Julia Alves quickly made her name, eventually beating top competitors such as Margo Ciccarelli, Nathalie Ribeiro, and Gabriela Fechter. Julia Alves was born in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil on January 24, 2001.
