Sony Tweet 3 Spiders
We cannot control Sony’s twitter account, but we can show our support by tweeting about The Amazing Spider-Man 3. Supporters of Andrew Garfield, who will reprise his role as the web-slinger in the third film, are more than motivated to continue their campaign for a third solo feature. Fans of Zack Snyder, who wrote and directed The Amazing Spider-Man, have also played a major role in raising awareness about the Snyder Cut.
Empire Magazine released two new covers of Spider-Man: The Way Home. Sony Pictures UK’s official Twitter account responded with three spider emoticons. Interestingly enough, the three spiders represent the three versions of the superhero, including the MCU version starring Tom Holland and Andrew Garfield. Empire first reported the existence of a sequel. After all, we’ve been waiting for the third installment of this series, and Sony has stepped up the hype for the third installment!
As Spider-Man fans have been tweeting about the upcoming sequel, Sony’s official Twitter account reacted by jokingly responding to the #MakeTASM3 hashtag. It referred to Garfield’s Spidey as “The Amazing Peter #3,” in a playful play on the numbering of Spider-Man movies. The movie will be released on July 8, 2019. It’s possible that the social media team had fun with the whole issue.
While fans haven’t figured out how to get the official greenlight for The Amazing Spider-Man 3, many fans have been spamming the official Twitter account in hopes of getting their hands on the movie. Since No Way Home’s premier, fans have been sharing the hashtag on social media. This acknowledgement has only fueled the #moregarfieldmovies campaign. But what if Sony’s social media team doesn’t get a chance to see the film?
The success of the first movie led to numerous sequels and spin-offs. The first two starred Tobey Maguire and Zendaya. After No Way Home, Sony had plans to use Garfield for another Amazing Spider-Man movie. Sony decided that it didn’t want to waste any more time with Garfield after No Way Home and so expanded the movie’s universe with Venom and Morbius.
