Fruit And Veg Awards

The 40 outstanding individuals who have made a significant contribution to the industry’s fruit and vegetable industry are honored with the annual Fruit + Vegetable Awards. They include farmers, processors as well as retailers and agronomists. The awards honor young professionals who are making an impact on the industry. The recipients of the 2020 class will be recognized at the Great Lakes Fruit & Vegetable & Farm Market EXPO and in issues of Fruit Growers News and Vegetable Growers News in October.

Asia Fruit Congress is Asia’s premier conference and trade show for fresh produce. The awards recognise outstanding achievement in the fresh produce industry across four categories. They recognize fresh fruit and vegetable suppliers, distributors and importers as well as pioneers in the Asian market. In addition to the awards, there are also a range of additional categories that recognize companies that are making a positive impact on the fresh produce business.

At a luncheon held in Scottsdale, Arizona on April 23, The Produce for Better Health Foundation announced its annual winners. To be considered for the award, companies must demonstrate that they support the Fruits & Veggies–More Matters brand platform and engage in community outreach. These recipients will receive their awards at a luncheon during PBH’s Consumer Connection conference. To learn more, visit the Produce for Better Health Foundation’s website.

Among the award winners in this year’s event, a marketing campaign for a premium fruit brand won a top prize. The campaign, by China’s Joy Wing Mau, has been running promotional activities throughout the volleyball team’s journey to the Olympic Games. Asiafruit editor John Hey announced the campaign as the winner, highlighting the similarities between the premium fruit brands and the volleyball team. The campaign featured short films that were widely shared on social media.
