Mary Carl’s Wedding

In a beautiful country wedding on a sunny June day in Arkansas, Mary Carl and David S. Welch gave their daughter in marriage, and a soft pink silk charmeuse gown with a sweetheart neckline and beaded lace flower appliques was the bride’s choice. The bride carried a gathered bouquet of pink flowers. Her sister Joanna Brake Ragon was matron of honor. The bridesmaids were Amanda Bailey, Rebecca Turner, and Whitney Wellborn, all of Little Rock. The long, pearl-encrusted veil that the bride wore was a favorite of Emily, her daughter, and the groom.

Mary and Carl fell in love in New Orleans, on Bourbon Street. It was their first date and their romance blossomed. Carl proposed on the streets and the couple were married in November. Their ceremony and reception took place at St. Louis Cathedral. The couple rode their motorcycles down the aisle. They honeymooned in St. Lucia. Their marriage was marked by many events, but none were as meaningful as the wedding day of Mary and Carl.
