Feel-good sports drama

‘Hustle’ is a feel-good sports drama with some heart, but it does lack the meaty storytelling you would expect from a movie in this genre. The storyline relies on a coach-and-trainee dynamic between Bo and Stanley, who struggle to believe in themselves and each other. Ultimately, both men depend on one another to succeed, and their relationship has deeper meaning than their individual accomplishments.

Hustle’s characters are likeable, and it’s easy to relate to the characters and situations presented in the movie. It’s also based loosely on the NBA, so it’s often intoxicatingly close to the sport. The film also includes cameos from NBA stars such as Julius “Dr. J” Erving and Carlos Hernangomez, but the actors don’t seem as confident in the more dramatic moments.

Language

If you’re a parent looking for a new movie to watch with your child, consider the language of hustle. The film has some strong language and is rated R. However, the movie is still a feel-good sports drama. It’s definitely worth checking out and you can learn more about the film from our parents guide.

In this movie, Adam Sandler plays a scout who brings a basketball phenom to the United States without the team’s approval. Together, they have one last chance to get to the NBA. While there is plenty of sex in the film, there are also plenty of jokes of a sexual nature. Multiple characters also use seduction to manipulate other characters.

Crude jokes

There’s no need to apologize for making crude jokes. In fact, some people find this kind of speech to be quite funny. However, it’s important to know that your actions have repercussions. If you’re making these kinds of jokes, make sure that you understand what you’re doing and consider the consequences of your actions. Then, you can find alternative ways to fit in with your peers.

While “The Hustle” has tame themes, the movie is not entirely free from crude jokes and language. It includes several characters who use profanity and swear for comedic purposes, and there’s a lot of talk of sex in the movie. Moreover, there are several characters who use seduction to influence others.

Unsuitable for children under 17

Rating systems are designed to help parents determine whether a movie or television program is suitable for younger viewers. Parents may find the material unsuitable for younger audiences due to moderate violence, some sexual situations, and crude indecent language. Unsuitable for children under 17 ratings are assigned by the Motion Picture Association of America’s (MPAA) Classification & Ratings Administration.

The NC-17 rating denotes that the content is too adult for children. However, it does not mean that the content is pornographic or obscene. The ratings should not be taken as negative judgments, but as guidelines for viewing the film with your family. Make sure you communicate your child’s preferences with you and your children so they know what kind of content is appropriate.
