Greenville Shooting

Two suspects are now in custody following the Greenville shooting. Ja’len Everett, 19, and Dione Dobbs, 20, both of Greenville, are charged with murder, possession of a weapon during a violent crime, and criminal conspiracy. They are being held in the Greenville County Detention Center. Both suspects have been denied bond as of Wednesday night.

According to reports, the suspect was armed with a gun and shot an officer, who then returned fire without striking the suspect. Other officers on Shaw Street then arrested the suspect. The suspect was not identified publicly, but was booked into jail on multiple outstanding warrants and new charges related to the Saturday shooting. The officer was not injured in the incident, and the incident is being investigated by the South Carolina Law Enforcement Division.

The suspect’s vehicle has been located. It was a black Jeep Patriot and was found less than two hours after the shooting. The victims were taken to a hospital. Police are asking anyone with information to contact Crime Stoppers. The shooting occurred around 9 p.m. near Hope Bridge Way and Staunton Bridge Road in Greenville, South Carolina. No one has been arrested yet, but the investigation continues. Anyone with information on the shooting is encouraged to call Crime Stoppers.

Although the shooting is horrific, TAMC officials say it is an isolated incident. The school is working closely with law enforcement, and the school will offer counseling to students. However, it is a sad day for Greenville and the residents of that town. This incident has shocked the town and the surrounding area, and it will continue to affect the community for a long time to come.

While the investigation is ongoing, four deputies have been placed on paid administrative leave pending the outcome of the internal investigation. Whether the suspect fired a weapon at the officers remains unclear. However, an autopsy will determine the number of shots fired. The four deputies involved in the incident are being questioned by both SLED and the Sheriff’s Office. A critical incident video is expected to be released 45 days after the shooting.

The suspect is a 12-year-old student. He was arrested for the shooting after a parent called police and alerted authorities. He was staying at an apartment complex off East Arlington Boulevard. Police arrested him shortly after 11 p.m. He was charged with attempted murder. The family of the victims are reportedly concerned.

The motive of the shooting is believed to be a broken marriage and the domestic issues that come with it. A witness provided a description of the suspect’s SUV, including the license plate number. The police are currently investigating whether the man was armed. Regardless of the motive, the killing of three people in Greenville, South Carolina, has shocked the city.
