The actress grew up in New York and trained in ballet. At age seventeen, she made her Broadway debut in “110 in the Shade.” Her role in “Drat the Cat!” won a Theatre World Award, and she went on to star in a TV adaptation of Rodgers and Hammerstein’s Cinderella. Her first feature film role came in the late 1960s, and she later starred in two Disney musicals. In the 1980s, she returned to regular feature film roles.
