Happy Monday Winter
This week will be cold
The rest of this week and into the following week will bring cold air to the region. Temperatures will reach the mid-twenties at some points, but it will feel much colder than that. Wind chills are also expected to be much colder. This means that you should take extra precautions.
Temperatures will be well below normal for many parts of the country this week. Throughout the Central states, temperatures will be about 20 degrees below average. Some areas will see highs of below zero on Tuesday. In Grand Forks, North Dakota, highs are expected to stay below zero until Friday. As the week goes on, the cold air mass will slowly dip south and east. The difference in temperature extremes will be as high as 40 degrees over a distance of about 200 miles.
By Wednesday, the cold air will reach the Texas Panhandle and central Texas. A reinforcing cold front will then dive through the northern Plains and the Ohio Valley. By Friday, it will reach the Northeast. A storm system will then ride up the Arctic front to reach the northern U.S.
March comes in like a lion
Anime fans are in for a treat this March, as the manga March Comes In Like a Lion has been adapted into an animated film. The story centers around a depressed teenager who competes in a professional shogi tournament. It has won a number of awards including the Manga Taisho and Kodansha Manga Award in the general category. It has received generally positive reviews and is a must-watch for fans of the manga genre.
The month of March is a transitional month – it begins with chilly weather and ends with mild weather. However, this year, March has been especially cold. A couple of weeks ago, it was covered in ice.
Snow is on the way
The city of Boston is bracing itself for more snow as a winter storm moves inland from the Atlantic. The snowfall amount is not yet clear, but the timing could make it an inconvenience for commuters. Depending on the storm’s path, Boston could see anywhere from 12 to 18 inches of snow.
The snow will start to fall Sunday night and into Monday morning. The temperatures will be near freezing. This is a good time to prepare your vehicle before heading out. Afterward, a layer of ice will form on the roads, making them very slippery. However, ice amounts should be minimal. The snow should not last longer than a few hours.
The heaviest snow will fall in the Northeast and Midwest. In addition, the Great Lakes will also see a lot of snowfall. The cold air will rush into the interior Northeast early next week. During this time, a second storm could form with snow or rain. This second system will fall between three and six inches of snow. However, most of the snow will stay north of I-80. In the meantime, New York City, southeastern Massachusetts, and much of Connecticut will see rain.
It will be a busy month
December is the 12th month of the year, and in the Gregorian calendar, it is the last month of the year. Before this, the Roman calendar only had 10 months. Historically, the winter season wasn’t very active, so December was not assigned a month. People celebrated this period by not allowing it to be busy.
