Jan Singer Joins J.Crew As CEO

After her exit from Victoria’s Secret in 2014, Jan Singer has found a new job with J.Crew Inc. Singer has extensive experience running large omnichannel brands. She shared her success story with the CWEL Scholars at Babson College on May 3, 2019.

Singer was previously CEO of Victoria’s Secret Lingerie and L Brands. She will return to J.Crew as its new CEO on February 2, 2019. After a four-year tenure as Victoria’s Secret’s head, Singer will take over the company’s executive functions. Singer will be bringing with her decades of business experience and the brand’s vision for the future. Earlier this year, Singer was appointed to the board of the J.Crew Group.

A veteran consumer, retail and brand executive with over 25 years of experience, Singer has led leading brands including Victoria’s Secret, Spanx, J. Crew and Calvin Klein. She has held key positions at major footwear and apparel companies like Nike and Reebok. In addition to her experience, Jan Singer shares her lessons learned and what works best for companies. She shares her insights into management and hiring best practices. She has a deep understanding of how to recruit and retain the right people.

A veteran in the fashion industry, Singer’s resume is impressive. She has led a $4 billion lingerie business and has a proven track record of predicting consumer trends. Singer was previously the chief executive officer for Nike, Inc. and Spanx, Inc. before joining Victoria’s Secret. From 2015 to 2017, she was a board member for Kate Spade & Company.

She also served as the Chief Executive Officer of Victoria’s Secret Lingerie and launched its new venture, Victoria Sport. She was also the CEO of Victoria’s Secret. She joined Victoria’s Secret in 2016 from a role as Chief Executive Officer of Spanx, Inc., a lingerie and lifestyle brand. She brought with her innovative and successful leadership skills a wealth of business experience to the organization.
