At the beginning of the episode, Jessica is trying to convince Keri that she should not work for McGann because her mother has been a successful lawyer. She wants to join a firm that will provide her with a steady income, so she offers to help them. Her father is a surgeon and does not approve of Jessica’s desire to become a lawyer. Her mother gives her a car as a gift, but she hates it. But Jessica was a good student and got a full scholarship to Vassar. She then went on to attend Harvard for three years and earned a law degree. During her career, Jessica has been the first black woman to work as a judicial clerk for the Third Circuit Court of Appeals. She is currently a senior partner at the Gordon Schmidt Van Dyke law firm.
One of Jessica’s most famous cases is the case of the infamous thief. Her former partner, Daniel, had a long-term affair with Jessica Cook, and she believed that he was stealing for her husband’s cancer. Fortunately, Harvey has been able to catch Daniel and prove her wrong, and the two become partners. Throughout the film, the plot thickens, and the story grows more interesting.
Angela refuses to believe that Jessica is making a deal with Lillian. Angela is upset and demands that Jessica find a new place for her family. Jessica tells Angela that she is dropping the lawsuit because the mayor has offered her a job. It takes months to settle the case, but Jessica is willing to save more than one housing project. This is the climax of Jessica’s story.
When Jessica returns to City Hall, she learns that her boss has a new candidate. He wants a woman with political experience to run for alderman. He has a history of sexual assault, but Jessica argues that he isn’t racist. She is also proud that she’s a Latina. In this way, the mayor has a new candidate in his office. However, Jessica’s job doesn’t end there.
After her wife’s death, Jessica’s relationship with Hardman was in crisis. She suspected that Hardman was using her money to fund an extramarital affair. Harvey refused to leave the firm, but Jessica let Harvey fire Mike. But after her wife’s death, Jessica re-joins the firm and hires him as managing partner. Mike’s role in the firm’s success shifted from being the firm’s managing partner to bringing in new clients.
