John McCook Net Worth, Salary, Age, Family, Movies & Tv Shows, Height, Girlfriend, Children & Hobbies: John McCook is one of the most well-known soap opera actors today, having played Eric Forrester on The Bold and the Beautiful since 1987. Since then he has received multiple Daytime Emmy nominations and been seen in movies/TV shows including No Time for Sergeants.

He grew up in Ventura, California. His father worked in oil fields and suffered hearing loss as a result, so his mother did not want him to pursue arts; however, his father supported and encouraged his decision.

McCook attended California State University Long Beach to study theater. From there he secured employment with Disneyland to pursue his acting ambitions while working there and earning an income while fulfilling his dreams of becoming an actor. Over time he appeared in several local theatre and television productions before landing the lead role on The Young and the Restless as Lance Prentiss, making his first appearance there in 1976 and remaining until being replaced by Katherine Kelly Lang in 1992.

McCook has been married three times. His first marriage was to Laurette Spang in 1980; from this union emerged three children: Jake Thomas, Rebecca Jeanne, and Molly McCook (now an actress). In 1996 at age 59 he married Juliet Prowse who died of pancreatic cancer.

He currently resides with his third wife, actress and producer Mary MacPherson, with whom they share two children: Seth McCook (son) and Molly McCook (daughter). Together they have been happily married for over 40 years and still remain so today.

McCook fills his free time by reading and working with animals, especially horses. He plans to retire on a farm somewhere in Italy or France someday, although at present he does not have grandchildren yet; he has also volunteered at an animal shelter and training center (Stagedoor Manor in upstate New York), in upstate New York; as well as feeling great appreciation for everything in life, including being nominated for a Daytime Emmy award and receiving numerous other accolades throughout his career; remaining true to himself while remaining genuine despite any external pressures from others; leading an uncomplex yet self-contained lifestyle that allows him to concentrate on what matters most – just what matters: himself!
