Maggies Dog
Maggie’s Dog House was inspired by a segment on Today about the delectable world of dog treats. Sylvester wanted to make her dogs the same treats as her, so she began baking her own dog treats. She first sold them at local pet specialty shops and malls during the holiday season. Soon, she found that people were lining up to purchase her dog treats. She has since expanded her business to include chew toys and dog toys.
Paula Evans, a humane agent from the Licking County Humane society, was sent to follow the leads. She set up live traps and camera equipment to track the dog. The community’s response was crucial to Maggie’s safe return. She was able to reunite Maggie with her owner by involving local businesses. The humane society’s efforts have helped Maggie find her forever home. Although it is not clear what Maggie’s fate will be, the Preston family is grateful that she returned.
Maggie’s Rescue was established in 2011. After being concerned about the fate a Border Collie that had been abandoned, Maggie’s Rescue was founded by a woman who needed to care for her dog. The woman who called said that she was unable to find a home for the dog and was worried about having to go to the pound. The rescue founders invited Maggie to come to them so they could evaluate her.
