Old North State League
Old North State League
The Old North State League, a North Carolina collegiate baseball summer league, is located in North Carolina. The league is unique because its teams must be all-college-bound in the fall and spring. These players must be accompanied by a few high school graduates who have committed to playing college baseball. The league’s logos are bold and vibrant, but they aren’t poached designs or crudely drawn. Rather, they should be the envy of baseball clubs across the country.
The Old North State League will be held in 13 different locations throughout the state. The league was founded in 1921 and the first season will be held in 2021. The teams will play at Tramway park, the Southern Lee High School field of baseball, and hope to eventually move into the multi-million-dollar Lee County Sports Complex. Jeremy Palme, currently the Lee County High School JV coach, will lead the first team.
The Old North State League prides itself on being a League for the Players. Games are played in great facilities, with wacky uniforms. Foul Pole Sports has been partnered with the league for the 2022 season. The mascots are surfing cows and angsty fruit. The league has grown over the past two decades and the teams are a great way for summer afternoons.
