Rose Marie And Doug
Rose Marie Hartman Hartman – Mother, Wife, and Grandmother
Rose Marie Hartman was a loving mother, wife, and grandmother. She died on October 2, 2021. She was a consummate caregiver. She loved knitting, word games, family, and her passions were words. She loved her family dearly. Douglas Hartman, her husband, was her predeceased. Rose Marie and Doug were married in Park, KS in 1983. They have four children. Rose Marie is survived by her sons, Chris and Greg, of Del Norte, CO, and her brother Dennis of Colorado Springs.
Doug Bailey, Rose Marie’s father was born in Pekin, Illinois. He moved across the country while working as a truck driver. He made friends with an elderly couple who lived nearby. He helped the widow with her chores after the death of her husband. Bailey met Rose Marie Kuehni (a professor of construction management at the University of Minnesota) shortly after. The two soon fell in love and married.
The family was left with many questions and frustrations after Douglas Bailey disappeared. The case remained open for many years. The Bailey family felt that the case was unfair. This led to court testimony and an eventual acquittal. The family hopes that the next prosecutor will do better work. The siblings are still angry but hope that the next trial will bring closure for the Bailey family.
