Shedrick Singleton Jr

The arrest of Shedrick Singleton jr. on charges of armed carjacking and use of a deadly weapon against police was shocking for both sides. He is accused of shooting a Lyft driver and shooting two Volusia County Sheriff’s K9 officers. He did not show any signs of injury while he was being tried. As he was trailing Deltona police officer A.J. Davis through the woods, the suspect fired several shots, hitting him twice in the leg.

The Volusia County Sheriff’s Office initially began their search for Singleton after receiving a Lyft report about a carjacking. When the suspect fled, the officers pursued him. During the initial pursuit, Singleton shot his first K-9, Ax, in the face. The Deputy was shot twice in the leg, while Singleton wounded Endo and a third K-9.

After Singleton’s arrest, the Volusia County Sheriff’s Office cleared four deputies and one DeLand police officer in the case. The deputy who shot Singleton was not charged in the carjacking case, although the police officer allegedly fired at the K-9s and was seriously injured. Lyft received the report from the driver at 11:11 p.m. on Friday. The driver picked him up in Sanford and drove him to a remote area near Reed Ellis Road in Osteen. The suspect then seized the minivan and put a gun to his head.
