The Voices Collection

The Many Voices Collection

The Many Voices Collection of children’s books offers a diverse selection of books that feature black characters, and written by black authors. Many of these books contain a strong anti-racist message. They are part of the Oxford Poetry Library lending collection, and are free to borrow for both children and adults. The collection is a great way to introduce your children to diverse stories.

The collection is divided into six categories, each of which represents a different community. Some of these categories are based on ethnicity, while others are based on national geography. There is a diverse selection of content, including roundups of key historical moments. Some titles are accompanied by wide-ranging first-person interviews.

Among its featured content is the Civil Rights Movement. The platform includes interviews with civil rights activists, nonviolent student protesters, Dr. King, Black Panthers, and other prominent figures. It also features interviews with the first Black mayors, pioneering medical professionals, and entrepreneurs. Voices’ content is accessible to the general public through events throughout the country.

Voice data collection is ongoing, not only because humans are complex, but also because technology evolves. As people get more comfortable with their devices, they will be able to talk to their devices as they would talk to a friend. As a result, voice data collection will be essential to make AI technology understand human speech and improve the user experience.
