The Many Voices Collection

The Many Voices Collection of children’s books offers a diverse selection of books that feature black characters, and written by black authors. Many of these books contain a strong anti-racist message. They are part of the Oxford Poetry Library lending collection, and are free to borrow for both children and adults. The collection is a great way to introduce your children to diverse stories.

The collection is divided into six categories, each of which represents a different community. Some of these categories are based on ethnicity, while others are based on national geography. There is a diverse selection of content, including roundups of key historical moments. Some titles are accompanied by wide-ranging first-person interviews.

Among its featured content is the Civil Rights Movement. The platform includes interviews with civil rights activists, nonviolent student protesters, Dr. King, Black Panthers, and other prominent figures.
