Carlos Boozer was born in Aschaffenburg, West Germany, on November 20, 1981. After he played high school basketball in Alaska, he went on to play college basketball at Duke. In 2001, he became an All-American and won the NCAA Men’s Division I Basketball championship.

Carlos Boozer started his professional career in 2002 with the Cleveland Cavaliers. After being released from the Cavaliers, he signed a contract with the Los Angeles Lakers. However, the Lakers would not pay Boozer the full $16.8 million that he was due for the first two years.

In 2010, Boozer was traded to the Chicago Bulls. During his time in Chicago, he played in four seasons and helped the team reach the playoffs in all of them. In the next three years, he appeared in the All-Star game twice, once with the Utah Jazz and once with the Los Angeles Lakers. Despite being named to the NBA All-Rookie Second Team, he did not appear in the All-Star game this year because of a hairline fracture in his left fibula.

In 2006-07, he won the Western Conference Player of the Week Award. At the 2008 Olympics, he won gold, becoming the only person to win gold in each of the previous two Olympic Games. Afterwards, he won the bronze medal with the U.S. Olympic basketball team.

Carlos Boozer’s most lucrative contract was when he signed a six-year, $70 million deal with the Utah Jazz. Although he was offered a higher contract by the Cleveland Cavaliers, he refused it. Consequently, he was a restricted free agent.
