Corey Patrick Got Help From Celebrities to Get His Driver’s License

The young man from Birmingham, Alabama, Corey Patrick, is a recent graduate of Tarrant High School. He started attending the school when he was in fourth grade. His family later moved to the West End, where he grew up. However, his determination to attend the school he loved resulted in a long commute each day. He often had to get up at 4:30 a.m. in order to catch a bus. By the time he got home, it was 5:19 p.m., when he was wearing his graduation gown.

Despite the long commute, Corey was determined to graduate and complete his college education. He woke up early one morning and hopped on a bus to Birmingham, AL. He had attended Tarrant High since he was in fourth grade and wanted to graduate with his friends. Despite the difficulty of the trip, Corey’s determination paid off. The bus driver even snapped a photo of him wearing his graduation cap.

The young man’s perseverance has earned him the attention of several celebrities. Rickey Smiley, a local radio show host and comedian, saw the teen’s determination and offered to help him. In addition to giving him a car, Smiley promised to help him get his driver’s license.

After a Facebook post, Corey’s story has gone viral. The young man had been making the same commute for over a year. Despite the fact that he moved to the West End to be with his mother, he was determined to graduate from high school with his classmates.

Rickey Smiley saw Corey’s determination and promised to help him get a new car. He was so inspired by the young man’s courage and willpower, he contacted nineteen Jamz Birmingham, which in turn promised to work with Da Brat, Tyrese, and other Birmingham-area rappers to help him get a new car. Rickey Smiley also covered his car insurance and Corey got a brand-new car from the University Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram of Anniston.
