Gavan O’Herlihy was an outstanding entertainer renowned for his long and successful career across film, television and theater. George Lucas also cast him as Airk Thaughbaer from Willow for George Lucas in 1988 and also made appearances in television series such as Six Million Dollar Man and The Bionic Woman; finally Lonesome Dove cast him as Dan Suggs who played him to perfection!

O’Herlihy was married to Juliette and together they had four children – Rogan, Lonan, David, and Daniel – living happily until his untimely death in Bath, Somerset. He was known to be an excellent and loyal husband without any reports of extramarital affairs or heterosexual orientation.

Gavan was honored during his lifetime with many prestigious awards and nominations, becoming an immensely admired actor who was revered by all. Not only was he renowned as an actor but his singing voice could delight anyone listening.
