Heather Langenkamp, born July 17, 1964 in Tulsa, Oklahoma USA is best known as Nancy Thompson from the Nightmare on Elm Street films. She attended Holland Hall School before transferring to Washington D.C to study National Cathedral School for Girls before later enrolling at Stanford University where she earned a BA degree in English Literature.

Before embarking on an acting career, Heather worked for the Tulsa Tribune. In 1983, she auditioned as an extra for Francis Ford Coppola’s films The Outsiders and Rumble Fish but her scenes were ultimately cut from both movies. Heather later appeared as Callie Wells in Drew Denbaum’s adaptation of John Gardner’s 1973 novel Nickel Mountain; later that same year she starred alongside Joanne Woodward and Richard Crenna in CBS television movie Passions.

Langenkamp reprised her role of Nancy Thompson in A Nightmare on Elm Street 3: Dream Warriors, as well as in various other horror films as well as comedies and dramas during her long and distinguished career.

She also co-owns and operates Los Angeles-based special effects makeup company AFX Studio.
