Ken Rice is an esteemed American journalist and anchor, serving as co-anchor of KDKA’s weeknight editions of News at Five and 11 since 1995 and 1999 respectively. Additionally, he shares hosting duties on The KD/PG Sunday Edition Sunday Morning Public Affairs Show; moderated debates for candidates running for Mayor of Pittsburgh, Allegheny County Executive and United States House of Representatives elections; hosted high school quiz show Hometown HiQ for 11 seasons during its run; moderated elections of Mayor for Allegheny County Executive and U.S. House races as well as moderated candidates debates to moderate candidates running against each other; host Hometown HiQ since 2004

Ken has earned numerous honors throughout his journalism career. He received a national first-place Associated Press award for his investigative piece Harrisburg Paydirt which exposed Pennsylvania legislators’ lucrative taxpayer-funded perks. Ken was also honored with Golden Quill awards from both Pittsburgh Press Club and RTDA.

He began his journalism career reporting and anchoring on Wisconsin Public Radio network before transitioning into television reporting college basketball for ESPN Midnight Madness and Down the Stretch shows; and anchoring WTAE-TV 5 pm newscast alongside Sally Wiggin at WTAE-TV 5 pm newscast in 1992.

Rice currently lives in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania with his wife Lauren. As an introverted person who prefers privacy in his family life, he prefers not to discuss specifics such as parentage. He is father to two adult children whose names remain undisclosed yet. Rice gives back to the community by often speaking at local schools and community groups he’s been invited to, creating and teaching TV news reporting courses at Point Park University as well as serving on its board for multiple sclerosis Society Pennsylvania Chapter as Honorary Chair during its annual MS Walk event.

As of this writing, he has amassed between $1 and $5 Million in earnings from his successful career as a TV anchor and reporter.
