Cherie Currie of American musician is an acclaimed singer-songwriter and chainsaw artist. She first gained notoriety as lead vocalist of seminal all-female rock band The Runaways during their seminal 1970s run. Since then she has released solo albums as well as joining forces with twin sister Marie Currie to record albums under both names; Cherie also acts in films and television shows.

Currie was born and raised in Los Angeles, California. From an early age she was drawn to rock music, beginning singing and performing locally in San Fernando Valley clubs.
