Harlingen Convention Center
The new Harlingen Convention Center will include meeting spaces, a pool, and a Hilton Garden Inn. The hotel will also feature a fitness center and breakfast bar. The design of the hotel and convention center is based on elements typical of South Texas. The building will be connected to the convention center by a boulevard-style entry drive with a roundabout feature.
The convention center, which opened this week, has a capacity of up to 1,800 people. Its design and natural flow make it an ideal space for meetings and conventions of all types, from social to corporate events. On-site technology services and contracted catering are also available to help make the experience a success. There is even a large outdoor event area. Located at 701 Harlingen Heights Drive, the facility was built in 18 months for a total cost of $16 million.
The Harlingen Convention Center was built by BC Lynd Hospitality, which will also build a 150-room Hilton Garden Inn hotel adjacent to the facility. The ribbon-cutting ceremony for the convention center will be held at 9:30 a.m. and Boswell will give a tour of the 44,000-square-foot building. The center has already hosted religious ceremonies, corporate events, and State of the City addresses.
The Hilton Garden Inn is a three-star property with ample amenities. The property is located near many restaurants and attractions, as well as Valley International Airport. A fitness center is also available on-site. Smoking is prohibited in hotel rooms, but is permitted in designated areas. The Hilton Garden Inn is an excellent choice for travelers visiting the Harlingen Convention Center.
